The Bus Driver provides bus transport to passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule. The Bus Driver is also responsible for assisting passengers with baggage, and regulating heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. The Bus Driver must also comply with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents.
Essential Functions of the Position
Drive trucks and sedans, and change tires on sedan type vehicles as needed
Inspect busses, trucks, or sedans and check gas, oil, transmission fluid, washer fluid and radiator before departure
Sweep, mop and wash vehicles as needed
Transport customers between pickup points, and drive diesel or gas-powered transit bus to transport passengers over established routes
Comply with Federal, State, local and RRST vehicle operating rules and regulations
LSEV inspect and dispatch quarterly
Maintain the condition of assigned vehicle and equipment
Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections of assigned vehicle and report necessary repairs to designated office staff
Drive safely along designated routes
Communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or any issues along a route.
Check bus tires, lights, and oil when needed for basic maintenance
Ensure the safe loading, travel, and unloading of passengers which may include loading/unloading passengers with disabilities
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Must possess a current and up to date Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement.
Must participate in a bus driver training, testing and licensing program in accordance with DoD 4500.36-R, AR 58-1, AR 710-2, AR 385-10, AR 600-55 and TMP Standing Operating Procedure(s).
Must take and pass drug screening and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
Must possess a good driving record.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must show proof of qualifications and experience prior to hiring.
Must have a current Medical Examination (within the last six months prior to hiring).
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
